Neem Oil – A cornerstone of Indian botanical pest management, neem oil contains azadirachtin, nimbin, nimbolide, and related limonoids that disrupt insect moulting cycles, act as feeding deterrents, and exert direct larvicidal action. The efficacy of neem actives against Lepidopteran larvae the order to which clothes moths belong is well-established across decades of agrochemical literature.
Tobacco Leaf Oil – Rich in nicotine, neophytadiene, solanone, phytol, and a complex of terpenic and phenolic compounds, tobacco leaf oil delivers potent insecticidal activity at low concentrations. Its combination with neem actives creates a synergistic spectrum of action targeting multiple stages of the moth lifecycle.
Supporting Botanical Oils – Depending on formulation variant, our system incorporates cedarwood (cedrol and other sesquiterpenes), palmarosa, rosemary, lavender, and citronella to broaden the repellent spectrum and contribute to a consumer-friendly sensory profile on finished fabric.
The combination ratios and the encapsulation approach are the subject of our provisional patent filing (Application No. 202521083580), titled A Modified Textile with Moth Control Properties and Method of Preparation Thereof.
Critically, none of these actives appear on ZDHC, REACH SVHC, or major retailer RSL frameworks as restricted substances. All are derived from renewable, agricultural sources a profile that aligns squarely with the premium natural fibre positioning of the wool market.
