One of the most practical questions we receive from wool processors and textile finishers is: how does this actually get onto the fabric, and does it require new equipment?
The answer is reassuring. At Innoleague Technologies India Pvt Ltd, our encapsulated moth-control suspension is designed for seamless integration into standard textile wet-processing workflows — no exotic equipment, no complex line modifications, no disruption to existing finishing sequences.
The primary application method is padding — the same process used for most functional textile finishes, including softeners, water repellents, and easy-care treatments. The wool substrate is passed through a padding mangle containing our capsule suspension formulated at the required concentration (grams per litre, or GPL), at a controlled wet pick-up percentage. The padded fabric then passes through a stenter frame for drying and, where a binder system is employed, a curing step to anchor the capsule deposit to the fibre.
The parameters we are currently optimising through our work with the Wool Research Association of India include:
Application concentration — GPL of capsule suspension in the padding bath, which directly determines the dry-weight deposit and resulting moth control performance.
Binder system — type and concentration of textile binder to enhance wash-durable anchoring, tested at multiple loading levels and benchmarked against binder-free application.
Curing conditions — temperature, dwell time, and airflow in the stenter frame, influencing both binder crosslinking efficiency and capsule integrity.
Substrate variation — performance on 100% wool, wool/nylon, and wool/polyester blends, accounting for differences in fibre surface chemistry.
The outputs of this systematic work — application weight, dry-weight deposit data, and corresponding moth mortality and wash durability results — form the core technical package that will support commercial scale-up and customer qualification.
Simplicity of integration is not a lucky accident. It is a deliberate design requirement.
